1st Friday, March 31, 2006
At noon on Friday, March 31, we rang the steeple bell at First Church in downtown New London. The bell's mournful chime, as was intended more than a century ago, dwarfed the sounds from the traffic and the city. It did so just for sixty seconds.
The bell will ring again next Friday, April 7 at noon, just for sixty seconds. We will ring it every Friday thereafter until the last of our troops are home from the war in Iraq. ¶ 4:46 AM 0 comments
